The International Journal of English: Literature, Language & Skills (IJELLS) is an open-access, double-blind, peer-reviewed journal that provides publication (quarterly) of articles in all areas of the subject.

IJELLS will only accept manuscripts submitted as e-mail attachments or uploaded at the website. Although every effort will be made to accept articles for publication, the editor reserves the right to refuse or edit submissions.

The articles submitted should correspond to the three defining areas of English i.e., Literature, Language & Skills. The clarity of the article along with well researched ideas and logical presentation will be considered while publishing. The articles need to follow the following for submission.

Author Details: Full details of the author/authors need to be submitted. A 30-word author profile in third person needs to be included.

Abstract: To clearly and concisely state the content in the paper.

Keywords: Choose six to seven keywords defining the paper.

Introduction: A clear introduction and framework through which the paper is presented.

Body: The actual investigation or research of the author and the methodology adapted.

Conclusion: The articles’ conclusion is a clear exposition about the author’s findings.

Short writing need not follow the formal order but need to be original and interesting to read.

Reviews can be of movies, books, games or new software but they need to conform to the overview of the journal. The reviews should serve the purpose of advancing and elucidating the purpose of English in its three forms of manifestations.

Poetry and short stories, original or translated can be published.

Discussion regarding the published articles, education policies in relation to English or any other news and opinions can be included if it fits into the format of the journal’s publication.

All manuscripts are checked for plagiarism and AI patterns along with double-blind peer-reviewed. The comments, in the form of a review document, is forwarded to the author for modifications if any. The final version has to be approved by the editors before publishing. The review process will be completed within one month. We do not issue an acceptance letter nor a certificate of publishing to any of the contributors.

The following criteria are used to evaluate a submission’s suitability for publication:

  1. Does the topic reflect up-to-date principles, methods, and techniques?
  2. Will the article appeal to a worldwide readership?
  3. Is the article well written and organized, with sufficient explanation to enable readers to apply the insights and recommendations?
  4. Does the article contribute new ideas and information to the field of English?
  5. Are the ideas and information in the article contextualized; that is, has the author cited other authors whose work is related to the topic?
  6. Is the writing clear, concise, and easy to read?

Authorship of the paper: Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution or interpretation of the reported study.

Originality and plagiarism: The authors should ensure that they have written entirely original works and if the authors have used the work and/or words of others, that this has been appropriately cited or quoted.

Fundamental errors in published works: When an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in his/her own published work, it is the author’s obligation to promptly notify the journal editor or publisher and cooperate with the editor to retract or correct the paper.

The International Journal of English: Literature, Language & Skills – IJELLS (ISSN 2278-0742) has been a start up in academic publishing, opting for the open-access format. We believe in free access to research in an easy share format. The financial needs, required to purchase and maintain, the tools and the services of publishing, are recovered through authors after their articles go through a stringent selection process. We term this ‘Processing Fee’. All the academic service for promoting the journal is honorary. We are trying very hard, through this collaborative model, to provide a quality platform for academic and creative writing in the academic vertical. The Print and distribution charges are additional.

For the Authors: Rs 2000/- for the print version.

For the Subscribers: Rs 2000/- to receive a hard copy of all issues in an year.

Authors are required to pay the formatting fee. Publication of an article in the International Journal of English: Literature, Language & Skills (IJELLS) is not contingent upon the author’s ability to pay the charges. Neither is acceptance to pay the handling fee a guarantee that the paper will be accepted for publication.

The International Journal of English: Literature, Language and Skills is an open access journal. All articles published in the journal are freely and permanently accessible online immediately upon publication.

We adhere to the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author, in accordance with the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) license, unless otherwise stated.

There are no subscription fees or paywalls to access the online content. Authors retain copyright of their work, and publication in the journal does not require the transfer of copyright to the publisher.

This open access policy aligns with our commitment to equity in academic publishing and the dissemination of high-quality research in English literature, language, and communication skills.
